Move over Bill Clifton and Carlton Haney, my Department of Inadvertent Research has discovered, and, as Dave Barry says, I am not making this up, a bluegrass festival in 1958.

On December 19 & 20, 1958 the University of Louisville basketball team hosted a “Blue Grass Festival” at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY. The University of North Carolina won the “Blue Grass Festival” by defeating Notre Dame 81-77 and Northwestern 78-64.
